Spring Events 2023
Spring is defrosting, and so is St Kilda! Melbourne is beginning to blossom with a multitude of events for individuals, friends, and families to enjoy.
Electric Kingdom (7-17th Sep)
Located in Birrarung Marr, a short walk across Flinders Street Station, this festival brings alive Melbourne nights with giant illuminated animals, mesmerising soundscapes, roving performers, and dynamic lighting. Tickets are free, however limited! Make sure to join the waitlist to secure a wonderful night with family and friends.
How to get there from Cosmopolitan Hotel: Take the 16 trams from Luna Park to Flinders Street Station, walking in the direction of Federation Square (opposite of the station).
Melbourne Royal Show (21st Sep – 1st Oct)
The Melbourne Royal Show is Victoria’s largest and most iconic annual community event. Get up close to animals, enjoy tantalizing tastes, thrill-seeking rides and more. This celebration is guaranteed to create great memories and experiences; it is a must go! Tickets are on sale August 9.
How to get there from Cosmopolitan Hotel: Take the 16/96 trams from Luna Park to either Flinders Street Station or Southern Cross Station and take the special train towards the Melbourne Showgrounds.
AFL grand final (30th Sep)
What is more Australian than to celebrate and go see the AFL grand final? Buy a ticket and bring your family and friends to the Melbourne Cricket Grounds to celebrate the passion and excitement of Australian sports!
How to get there from Cosmopolitan Hotel: Take the 16 trams from Luna Park to Flinders Street Station, walking in the direction of Federation Square (opposite of the station). OR take the 246 bus at the front of National Theatre towards Clifton Hill, getting off at Rowena Pde/Punt Rd.
Oktoberfest (21st Oct)
Located in the Catani Gardens of St Kilda, this festival celebrating German culture and food (and beer!) is only a walk or a few tram stops away from Cosmopolitan Hotel. Enjoy outdoor entertainment and music while you sip, eat and play. Tickets are on sale now!
Luna Dark (27-31st Oct)
Melbourne’s biggest Halloween costume party is back at Luna Park! Usually only opening in the day, Luna Park transforms into creepier and horrifying version of itself for across 5 nights in celebration of Halloween. Tickets will be on sale soon, so keep an eye out for some terrifying fun.
